Sizing: HOW TO MEASURE

Maison Mutt offers sizes from: 6" to 21" (no half sizes please)

There are three measurements that will define how the coat lays on your pet. Your dog should be standing for these measurements.

Measurement #1 is absolutely necessary to achieve a correct fit. If you only take one measurement be sure it is #1. Once you know the length of your pet, let's say its 11", then you can purchase a coat that is 1"-3" shorter than your pets’ length ~ so you could choose a 10", 9" or 8" coat. It's really a matter of personal preference. Use your tape measure to see where the coat will lay and order the size that is pleasing to you.

Measurement #2 helps me determine if the coat available will fit your pet around their tummy. Not all dogs are built the same ;)

Please use a flexible tape measure:

1) Length of coat: This is the measurement from the base of the neck to the base of the tail (that's from the neck to where the tail starts, not the tip where the tail ends). If you get an odd number for a measurement round down to next whole number (i.e.: a measurement of 8.5" can be rounded down to 8", 7" or 6" depending on what visual you like). Remember, this measurement is a must have!

2) Chest Girth: This is the area around the widest part of the rib cage. Be sure the tape fits snug around this area (just behind the front legs).

3) Neck: Loosely measure around your pets’ neck for a comfortable fit.

WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER: Select the coat size based on the LENGTH of the coat (that's measurement #1). Ideally #'s 2 & 3 should fall into place BUT be sure to provide those measurements as well so we can BE SURE that the coat created will fit your beloved pet.
